If you are a new/renewing paid member to JCBC and have just joined using ACTIVE.COM, getting into Yahoo might still take a couple of days while our membership officer verifies your info.   The same thing goes for mail-in memberships with a slightly longer delay due to the postal service, of course.  Active and Yahoo do not share the same database and require a manual step by the officer to get you in.

You must at least inform our membership officer of your email address before you can use our Yahoo Group.   You should have disclosed on the mail-in form or via Active.com.  Once the officer receives your payment, you’ll receive an official Yahoo INVITE thru that email very soon.  If you do not respond to this INVITE within 30 days it will expire and you’ll need to email a request to the membership officer to get you in:

If you’ve taken the initiative and asked to JOIN the group ahead of time, the officer will see this request, verify your paid membership, and let you in as soon as possible via email.

NOTE:
For those of you who have already joined this Group and are tired of the Cycling-n-JC emails reaching your inbox, please consider this before asking the membership officer to unsubscribe you from the Group…
Those emails reach your inbox because you chose to have them forwarded to you when you set up your Yahoo ID with our Yahoo Group.  You can easily turn this OFF (without totally unsubscribing) by logging into our Group with your Yahoo ID and clicking EDIT MEMBERSHIP.  There you can completely turn them OFF or chose a few different ways to have them forwarded to you.   You can change this whenever you want at your discretion as many times as you want!
